Yunnan-Fuxian Lake

The Fuxian Lake is the second deepest (155 meters) fresh water lake in China with an average depth of 87 meters. Owning a total area of 212 square kilometers, seeing through the crystal water, the visibility can reach 7-8 meters. The average water temperature of the lake is 17.7℃ and the sand in shore is always clean and soft. The lake breeds a fish species known as counter-wave fish. The Fuxian Lake Basin has fertile land and is abound with various local products like rice, wheat, broad bean, tobacco and rape-seed, thus it has become the famous barn in central Yunnan and the well-known homeland of Yunnan tobacco. The Fuxian Lake is the best place to swim for its water temperature has little change between summer and winter and its good water quality. The crystal-clear water which is mild and only 1 to 3 meters deep less than 200 meters from the shore, the beautiful beach and sand, in particular in areas around the flatland to the north, have draw hundreds of thousands of visitors year around. At present, many tourism facilities have been constructing in the Fuxian Lake and the Gushan Mountain which make them the great places to spend your summer vacation.
